Snug Harbor, FL Some projects blend the boundaries between new construction and renovation. In this project, LDK assembled a team; Architect, Landscape Architect and Contractor and collaborated with all to completely gut the home, re-work existing space and add an additional two rooms. First, we collaborated with our clients to visualize how they wished to use the space in their home. We were challenged to work within the parameters of an odd shaped ceiling and the need to connect open spaces. Our design solutions included designing, fabricating and installing natural cherry wood ceilings, beams and cabinetry in addition to leveling the living room floor with existing floor heights. |

The home features industrial style fixtures and furniture pieces, custom cabinetry and handmade tile. |
California contemporary renovation
Atlanta, GA Tucked into a heavily wooded lot, this 1965 house was filled with light from floor to ceiling windows. We immediately went to task solving significant architectural design issues. Our goal was to maintain the home’s spacious rooms while creating new areas to support a growing family. Collaborating with Rick Bizot, Architect, LDK proposed rearranging the awkward foyer by moving the stairwell to the old kitchen. We continued to create a larger kitchen space by marrying the current kitchen with an unnecessary living room and in doing so provided room for a mud entry, powder room and laundry room. The best of design is in the details and our finished product has no shortage of stunning elements. We worked hand-in-hand with our client to collaborate on selections and repurpose their collection of high end furniture and art. The result is a highly functioning and stunning home. |
